New year at Holmdale Road, Jan 2004

clb_et_shb_1jan04_256Annicka & James Terry -  Char, Martin & Solly joined us & others with babies for a night of good food & stimulating company. In fact, we all had such a good time, the party went on the next day. Martin cooked breakfast and Char played with the boys as the picture shows. She was oh so very good at hanging out with them both in these early months.

Paris, Mar 04

paris0304_009_256MRB - I can't quite remember how this trip happenned, and that is no doubt because I had little to do with the logistics. We went to Paris thanks to Charl's orgainsating and Judy's generosity - she had agreed to have Sol for the whole weekend (the first time that had happenned I believe).  I remember sitting on the train (UK side) negotiating the sale of our flat in Plympton Road. By the time we arrived in Paris we had sold it. We stayed in a littel themed hotel in St Germain, we walked and talked and ate well (hard not to I guess).

Char took me to Notre Dame and the Musee D'Orsay which she had always said was her favorite museum in the world.  I remember taking lots of pics of motorbikes for Solly who had just developed a thing for bikes.

This pic was taken quite close to the Pompidou centre, I am sure there is a St. Martin shot that we took a few moments later

This particular trip will always be special to me for no other reason than it was Sam was conceived.

Skye, Apr 2004

raasay1_10apr04_256MRB - The best holiday we ever had was a 2 week trip to the western isles of Scotland.  We spent a few days on Skye walking the Cuillins.

We stayed at the Hotel Eilean at Isle Ornsay, maybe the most beautiful place I have ever been. We took at day trip to Raasay and climbed up Dun Caan with Solly in a back pack, singing songs until we reached the peak.

We were (literally) on top of the world.

Jo Sadie - Not sure who is looking forward to blowing out the candles more, Josh, Nat, Sophie or Char.

Ace Cafe, June 2004

clb_shb_acecafe_14jun04_256MRB - One sunny saturday morning we decided to have breakfast at the Ace Cafe on the North Circular. I rode down on my new (old) Thunderbird with Sharon and Char followed with Sol in the car.  Just by chance it was 'Triumph Day'!  Amongst all the bikes were a troup of Police bikes.  Sol couldn't wait to sit on them.  After asking whether Sol could sit on one of the bikes, one of the coppers said, "That's how we became coppers!".
