Char's Hen night, June 1997
Jo Sadie - June 1997 in Eton Avenue. These three degrees were Business Studies, History of Art and Psychology - certainly not singing.
MRB
- I can vouch for the fact that although there were certainly many
wonderful assets, music was never part of the repertoire. I am so
glad that there are no surviving images of my stag night. Ouch!
Nottingham, 6 July 1997
MRB
- Char and I got married in the grounds of William House, in the
Park, Nottingham. It had been a grey week and the forecast was
for more rain. Jude and Norms had had a marquee erected in the
garden which would keep the rain off us if it did rain. As it turned
out, the bad weather broke and we had a scorcher. Charlotte
was beautiful. Her smile was brighter than ever (if that is at all
possible).
Jude arranged most of it and things were just so. I only had 2 jobs; manage the band, and show up.
I remember getting my hair cut on the Saturday and Jude being quite adamant that I don't get it cut too short.
Rabbi Perez conducted the procedings and in his broken English made a very special ceremony. Before the wedding he gave me some advice which I will value always. "Never be afraid to say sorry, never go to bed upset with each other". Good advice that.
I imagine my memory of my own wedding is similar to anyone else's; the time just went, and it was over before it began.
London, Christmas 98?
Julia Boxer
- This photo was just a snapshot I took one Christmas when I came back
to London for a visit. Having so many people to see and very little
time, I often arranged a night out in a pub and hoped that people would
come! I particularly remember this night as Cha, Chrissy, Debs and Sara
Conway (not photographed here) were present. We spent the night
reminiscing about our adventures at Leeds University and boring the
socks off Martin and the others there. I love the two smiley, happy
faces of Cha and Chrissy.
Wales, Millenium Eve 2000
Liz Jeffay - As usual we hadn’t planned more than a couple of weeks ahead for that New Year. And in Charlotte’s inimitable way she invited us to join in with all her and M’s friends for the Millennium in wonderful Wales. Not only that, but we could stay in their cottage and use the new present she’d just given M (I believe not yet used) – a great inflatable mattress. Not so sure M, Soph and Jez were so impressed but we, as you can see and as ever were thrilled to join in and spend time with the fab Brass & Bergers!
