My memories of Charlotte

Charlotte fitted perfectly into the batch of first cousins - everyone loved her! I remember first meeting Charlotte at Michael’s and my wedding at Carmel College in October 1994. Martin and Charlotte had decided to come back from the States - having been introduced partly through our Grandmas in Glasgow. [MRB - Leora and Michael's wedding was the first time that I took Charlotte to a family event. In effect our first 'outing'.]
Sophie - we had already met you at Avi and Ali’s engagement party in a restaurant in West Hampstead - ( not sure of the date!)
Charlotte always welcomed us with a huge smile, a “Hi darling” and a big hug - that was her way! - always so passionate. I remember we had an extra special hug at Martins 40th party and Charlotte tried on my lilac coat - she looked great in it.
Other events that stick in my mind - visits to Plympton Road - after Solly was born.
August 2002 - Grandma Freda’s 90th birthday in Glasgow (pic) - Solly had just been born and Martin and Charlotte drove up for the party - our hotel rooms were pretty much opposite each other - Charlotte was amazing - of course she wouldn’t miss a family function! [MRB - the picture shows my Grandma, Freda, with her grandchildren and partners, on her 90th birthday she had 11 great grandchildren, today there are 15!]
December 2003 -tea party at Plympton Road. Clare and Silvio, Joe and Lola were in town. Charlotte had bought lots of goodies for the kids - she always thought of everything. [MRB - Lola was only 4 months old!]
June 2004 - Miriam and Barry’s engagement party at Deborah and Martin’s house - Solly was standing on a chair next to the fishpond and suddenly disappeared - he had fallen into the fishpond! Charlotte just went into autopilot and fished him straight out! - luckily he was absolutely 100%. [MRB - just soaked his pride a little]
August 2004 - Charlotte and Solly came to visit us after Emma had been born - Kate still remembers the bath toy Charlotte had bought her and it gets used every bathtime.
October 2004 - Miriam and Barry’s wedding (pic) - Charlotte was 6 months pregnant, wearing a stunning black dress, black high heeled shoes and running after Solly around the Palm House.
After Sam was born I dropped by to see Charlotte a few times for a quick chat - I remember she fondly stroked his little back whilst he slept all curled up. Not a day goes by without you being in our thoughts.
